Type Specimen Booklet
In this project, I designed a booklet that shows the typeface Century Gothic. The objective of the project was to catch a users eye when looking through a bookstore. I was responsible for selecting the typeface, color palette, and the dimensions of the book. This project was done independently to refine my typographical skills and was not presented to or used by any of the type foundries that have designed or redesigned Century Gothic.
The Research
I wanted to make sure that when someone saw my book, they would instantly want to pick it up and read what it is about. My inspiration consisted of bold artwork. I created a Pinterest Board that represented my vision for my final booklet.
Color Swatches
Here, I focused in on color schemes that will help make my book stand out from others. I wanted to make sure that the colors were bold and bright so that it helped my book stand out from others in a bookstore. I also wanted to pick colors that complimented each other nicely so that one was not overwhelmed when looking through my book.
